Out of the dishes we ordered, I would say the most best piece was the steamed rice. Some people might enjoy the food here, but I would compare it to a greasier, lower quality, but more expensive Panda Hut Express.

Basic place and food on the cheap side. Miserly portions.

They have a Chicken in a garlic sauce that is to die for. Great food, great service and reasonably priced.

I don't know what everyone is crying about. Buddy is delicious. I've never felt the urge to dine in, but I have ordered delivery several times. Sure it can take up to an hour but it's always hot and tasty. Worth waiting for. Honestly great food. They deserve a 4.7 not 3.7. Bad reviewers should just stick to Earls and Joey's.

Ordered 7 different dishes today. May 2, 2020. Saturday. Supper for myself, my wife, and 3 grandchildren. Never ordered from this place before. My usual places like Red Diamond and Golden Rice Bowl were closed. So I went elsewhere. Far superior to the other places mentioned. My new place for sure. Covid-19 is weeding out the average from the good for sure. Me = 5 stars. My wife = 4 stars. My oldest granddaughter = 5 stars. My oldest grandson = 5 stars. My youngest grandson = 7 stars. Lol. Good job guys. We will be ordering from here again.

Came here with a group of 8 and the service was abysmal. Lots of people are commenting on the change of ownership and I definitely agree that things have gone downhill. Most dishes were under seasoned as well. Their menu is now a confused mixture of Cantonese and Sichuanese dishes. Servers were not familiar with common Cantonese dining etiquette like refilling the teapot when the lid is off, filling/distributing everyone’s soup, and providing basic serving utensils and condiments for particular dishes. Every other authentic Chinese restaurant I’ve dined at in Edmonton (Jumbo, Ricebowl, Beijing Beijing, 852 etc) can get these basics right, but apparently Buddy Wonton no longer has management/staff who know or care... My family couldn’t even wait until we arrived home and commented about how bad everything was during the car ride home. Definitely never coming back.

When I moved to Edmonton years ago I went on a search for the best hot and sour soup and Buddy Wonton was the best I found. They're food is consistently good and the service is fast and friendly.

In Edmonton, it's not a bad spot for Chinese food. Generally pretty large servings, fair price, service is what you expect from a Chinese restaurant (great if you speak Cantonese/Mandarin, sub-optimal if you look like all your ancestors grew up as Vikings). The bathrooms could use a good cleaning but otherwise, pretty good spot for Chinese

The lady was extremely rude we didn’t know the menu and we got what I did not ask for and then she continued to argue with me because we chose to pay our bill and leave after the food we ordered was greasy and came out in 30 seconds after ordering. I would not recommend this place to anyone !

Decent Chinese dishes with reasonable prices. Place is comfortable. Parking readily available.

Their "half chicken" dishes are under portioned. It's mostly the chicken breast and thigh pieces missing. It's missing th breast bone cartilage parts and half the wish bone, also missing that little drumstick from the thigh. $19 for just a bit more than a 1/4 portion.

Restaurant is good and friendly staff.

Went to this place for the second time with my friend we ordered exactly the pic in the menu it was curry chicken brisket with rice but the color of the curry is yellowish but in the menuCard is red I ordered this because I tried the same before at this place. but this time it’s totally different the taste and the color. Usually the meat curry looks red not yellowish but they argued. So I gave up and just ate what I had cus I was hungry. Maybe the cook has changed. My friend was disappointed. But I don’t criticize any other meals in this place. Only this food. I may goBack and order a different. 👍

I ordered Hainanese chicken rice set this evening. It is the wrost that I have ever seen. The presentation of the dish is terrible. The rice is so dry that it seemed like they used overnight rice to make it. The chicken pieces were chopped unprofessionally. The milk tea did not taste like tea. What a bad experience! The restaurant used to be one of my favorites. But the quality is gone with the old boss. Will never go there again.

Dropped in for late snack. Wonton noodle is delicious and tasty.

Went for lunch, the special was a very large serving... Also had a serving of the hot and sour soup, had large shrimp and lots of pork.

Very good food! So full of flavor and I would definitely recommend others to go there if they are looking for great food, quick service and a good atmosphere!!

No. No. No. They need to hire a new chef. We didn’t like any of the dishes. Most of the dishes we ordered were unfinished because they were just that bad. Honestly, the worst Chinese food I have had in a while. The flavor just isn’t right. Good Chinese food doesn’t taste like this okay?

Metal sliver in chicken soup, I have been going to buddy’s for 10 years but we are parting ways. When eating the chicken soup I found a 1in sliver of metal in my mouth. We stopping eating are entire order and returned all for a refund. Buddy was more concerned out giving us the money back then the metal in the food. “ it sometimes happens “ is not really and excuse.

I have ordered from buddy wonton multiple times and it has consistently been great food. Excellent quality, fresh, and really tasty. I will continue to order from them - they’re my go to Chinese.

Amazing food and service. Had order wor wonton soup and chicken with mixed vegetables. Both the dishes were delicious and the quantities were very pretty good. Nice place to dine in with family/friends as they have friendly environment and good seating arrangements.

Love this place. A coworker suggested going here and I was not disappointed. Food is delicious, always more than you can eat. Environment is chill and the wait is not long 👍

With change of management they now feature a lot of Sichuan spicy dishes. The menu is extensive and offers a good variety of choices. Portion sizes are on the generous side and pricing is quite reasonable. Food quality is better than average and service is quick.

We enjoyed there ginger beef. Casual canto food. Been many times. Decent food for the area. They have some lunch specials

Haven't been there in months, decided to drop in & pick up take out. The family loved it. Large portions, very tender beef & pork, deep fried shrimp with large shrimp in a crispy batter & crispy vegetables.

This used to be a go-to place for big portion of Chinese food at a cheap price (~2010). However, they have increased their prices a lot while cutting back in quantity and quality of the food.

NO STARS (I gave it one star only because Google will not allow to post a non-star review. Absolutely atrocious under new management. This used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant in town. Sadly, under new management they are unacceptable, at least when it comes to taking telephone orders. They are sloppy, slow, inattentive. It seems that they have no one who speaks passable English to answer questions in a proper, understandable manner. Right in the middle of conversation they would put the receiver down on the counter without explaining why; one could only assume it was done to talk to a customer who wanted to make payment and leave; then they would say they were busy without a word of apology. Beware of this place.

4.5 stars for Buddy Seafood. This is our go to for wonton soup, chow mein or other Asian delights.

Coming from Toronto where there is a lot of good Hong Kong style restaurants, this was a neat little spot that brought memories of home. The restaurant has a simple design with tables for different group sizes and standard in restaurants like that mounted on the walls playing the Chinese channel. We ordered the BBQ duck noodles and the yin yang fried rice. They've got two menus, one that's entirely in English with typical fare enjoyed by Western people, then they've got a more Chinese menu that has some menu options entirely in Chinese. The selection on the English only menu is limited but it has all the classics enjoyed by most. The Chinese menu offers all of the same things found on the English menu but so much more and many dishes that are more Cantonese style authentic. The food was pretty solid and I'd definitely recommend going back

Wonderful shrimp wonton. Wife loved her rice noodles with beef and black bean sauce..thank you for adding the black bean as requested. Very close to flavours I'm used to from Vancouver
